What are the major differences between SSC and IBPS Exams?

Dear aspirants,
Welcome to visit here. Today we are discussing about the difference in SSC and IBPS exams.
Today many aspirants want to prepare for competitive exams to get Govt. Job. SSC and IBPS are two most significant sectors who recruit many students every year. Students always confuse to prepare for SSC or IBPS exams. What are these and what type of pattern or syllabus for these two exams, all these doubts we will clear in this article.

What is the major difference between these two exams?
For most Govt. Job aspirants, IBPS PO and SSC CGL (Graduate Level) exams are primary opportunities.

In detail, the difference between these two Exams are:

1.    Online Exam:

IBPS conducts online tests and SSC exams are still offline i.e. pen-paper exam. However SSC is trying to conduct online exams and waiting for Government approval for this.

2.       Syllabus and marks pattern:

The time duration to attempt the exams are same in both the exams i.e. 2 Hours. There are five sections in IBPS PO and in SSC CGL there are four sections. And total marks and questions in both Exams are 200. Moreover, in IBPS PO there is sectional cutoff, means we have to clear each section to secure minimum marks, whereas in case of SSC CGL no need to secure minimum marks in each section.

3.       Computer Section:

In IBPS and SSC four sections are same in both, an additional section in IBPS PO is computer section. This section is very helpful for banking aspirants to get good marks to qualify the exam.

4.       Trigonometry, Algebra and Data Interpretation:

Quantitative Aptitude is a most important section in the both exams. In Quantitative Aptitude, trigonometry, algebra etc. are mostly asked in SSC CGL exams. No trigonometry questions are asked in the exams by IBPS PO. IBPS PO mainly focus on Data Interpretation (DI). Even in SBI PO exam, only Data Interpretation questions are asked. Thus DI is most important part in IBPS exams. In SSC CGL, data interpretation is simple as compare to IBPS exams.

5.       Reasoning:

In reasoning, pattern of questions are different in both Exams. The level of difficulty in the IBPS exams are more than the SSC CGL exams. And one of the most scoring section in IBPS exams. One of the big difference in both the exams is Non-Verbal questions are asked in SSC exams. No these type of questions are asked by IBPS. In IBPS puzzle, sitting-arrangement, input-output, data sufficiency etc. are the significant topics in IBPS.

6.       Current affairs, Banking awareness, Static GK ,Polity, History and Science:

In IBPS PO, Banking Awareness and current affair plays very important role, whereas Polity, Science and history are the significant areas where questions are asked in SSC CGL. We can assume that we have to cover General Knowledge in SSC CGL and Static GK, Current affairs and Banking awareness are dominant in IBPS PO exams.

7.       English Section:

English pattern is somewhat similar in both exams. A big difference in both is SSC CGL focus on the grammar area whereas IBPS PO focus on the non-grammar area.

SSC CGL: Voice, degree, correct spellings, antonym-synonym, Idioms/Phrases etc.
IBPS PO: Reading Comprehension, sentence rearrangement, cloze test etc.

In both exams, we will suggest you to prepare for one of these at one time. Never try to prepare both Exams at the same time, because the study material and pattern to study are mostly different.
